The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Launched in 1969, the NSS aims to foster a spirit of voluntary work and social responsibility among students through various community service activities. The primary motto of NSS is “Not Me, But You”, which reflects the essence of selfless service, unity, and collective growth.

NSS provides an extended dimension to the higher education system and allows students to engage in meaningful social work while developing leadership qualities, teamwork, and civic responsibility. Activities include rural development, health awareness campaigns, blood donation drives, environmental conservation, disaster response, and promoting literacy, among many others.

M-DIT Polytechnic college is home to two active and vibrant NSS units: Unit 282 and Unit 289. These units are sanctioned by the Technical Cell of the National Service Scheme under the Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala.

Our NSS team plays a pivotal role in shaping socially responsible technocrats who are not only skilled in their respective trades but are also committed to nation-building and community development.
